Air, Water and Energy are the most essential elements of the built
environment. As consulting engineers, we analyze and design new
Mechanical (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection (MEP/FP)
systems that handle these matters. How these systems are designed will
not only affect the architecture of the built environment, but also the comfort,
safety, well-being and productivity of the occupants in various ways. We are
most conscientious of both effects of our design.
Buildings account for over one third of the total energy consumption and
significant portions of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.. The design
of the building systems therefore also significantly affect the sustainability
of the overall living environment of human beings. AWE Engineers are
particularly interested in designing high energy performance building
systems to help build a sustainable future of the humankind. As engineers,
we are keen to innovative approaches that utilizes renewable energy
resources such as geothermal heating and cooling systems.
AWE Engineers also work with existing MEP systems, either to better their
performance, making them more energy efficient for instance, or change
them to suite new building program requirement. We also investigate
problems with existing systems and find solutions for them.

Massachusetts in the Boston area. We provide services in the areas of
HVAC engineering, MEP/FP engineering, geothermal heating and cooling
system engineering, Energy Modeling and LEED Consulting. AWE is a
CGD (Certified GeoExchange Designer) via AEE / IGSHPA and is accredited
by IGSHPA as a geothermal installer. AWE has a successful track record of
engineering geothermal heating and cooling systems (ground source heat
pump systems) that achieved significant energy cost savings for the
owners.
