Principal's Bio
George Hu, P.E., LEED AP
George is a mechanical engineer with expertise in engineering
HVAC systems for buildings of all types. He has 14 years of
experience in the field of HVAC systems design and analysis.
His past experience included engineering and design of HVAC
systems for large and small institutional, commercial, health-care,
pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical research laboratory
facilities.
Through his prior employment, George has worked closely with
architects and building owners, progressively as HVAC designer,
HVAC project engineer and project manager. He has worked on
many large and small buildings from conceptual design through
construction and building occupancy. George has analyzed and
resolved numerous engineering issues either on the drawing
during design, or in the field during construction, or operation
problems after occupancy.
Via academic background as well as real project experiences,
George is also proficient with energy modeling, which is a very
useful tool either for the purposes of informing architects on their
design (e.g., building envelope, lighting, daylighting), or helping
engineers make energy efficient design decisions, or for the goal of
pursuing LEED certification for building projects (Energy and
Atmosphere prerequisites and credits).
George is a professional engineer registered in Connecticut,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine,
Pennsylvania, and New York (pending). He is a member of the
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning
Engineers. He is also a LEED accredited professional by the U.S.
Green Building Council. George holds a Bachelor's degree of
Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and
Astronautics, and a Master's degree of Science in Building
Technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
